Avuncular DNA Test

The Aunt-Uncle DNA test is also known as an Avuncular DNA test. It can be used to confirm whether a person is the biological Aunt or Uncle of a child. This type of case is often used when there is a need to confirm the paternity of an alleged niece or nephew; however the alleged father is unavailable or unwilling to take part in the test.

Through the Aunt-Uncle DNA test, we can test a brother or sister of the alleged parent as they share some DNA in common. As with all Relationship Testing, the sample of the Mother is recommended where available to strengthen results. We normally take a <20% probability of relatedness as an exclusion and >80% probability to indicate an inclusion of relationship.

In cases where the child is male and an uncle is male we also recommend reviewing the option of performing a Y Chromosome Test since a relationship can be also determine through the male lineage.

•     The Test Collection Kit will be sent to you in the mail from Pharmacy2me
•     There is an additional lab processing fee payable of $500.00 direct to the Lab and an additional lab processing fee payable of $60.00 to include the Mother
•     The kit includes the form and payment details required by the Lab
•     Total cost for the test and lab processing fee is $589.00 or $649.00
