CareSens Blood Glucose Monitor

The CareSen Blood Glucose Monitoring System is manufactured by i-SENS Inc, a company that specialises in chemical biosensors. i-SENS is ISO 9001 &13485 accredited, and the CareSens system has achieved CE-IVDD approval assuring a high level of quality and confidence for users of this system.

The meter and test strips are registered with the TGA, and the test strips are available through the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS).

Features:

Dual Test Strip Port:
CareSens Blood Glucose Meter is the World's first dual test strip port system. It has two test strip ports (top and bottom) on the device for easy use regardless of your handling habits (e.g., right-handed or left-handed).

Tiny Amount of Blood Needed:
A very small volume of blood (0.5 ul) is utilized for testing. This greatly reduces the pain in getting your blood sample by either sampling from your finger using the lowest depth setting of your lancing device, or sampling at alternative sites where only a small blood sample can be retrieved, but with much less pain. Such alternative sites include forearms, palms, thighs, etc. CareSens and CareLance can be recommended for those who fear or dislike pricking their fingers.

Very Fast Measuring Time:
Blood loads into the test strip instantly and the test result is displayed 5 seconds later.

Memory:
250 test results can be stored in the memory of the device, and this data may be downloaded to a personal computer. Your results can then be displayed and printed as graphs, log book, histograms, average analysis (with user set mealtimes) and more. You can also add results and comments manually and even email reports to your clinic directly from the program.

Accurate Results:
The Glucose Oxidase reagent on the test strip is specific for glucose. It will not measure other sugars (maltose, galactose and xylose) that can give falsely increased blood glucose readings if you have any of these sugars in your blood system. Testing can be performed in a wide range of temperatures (10-40 Celsius), relative humidity (10-90%) and haemtocrit levels (20-60%). A comparative evaluation performed by the International Diabetes Institute (Melbourne) found CareSens to be the most accurate of the glucose meters tested against the reference method.

Lifetime Warranty:

Life Bioscience warrants that the CareSens Meter (only) shall be free of defects in material and workmanship in normal use for the lifetime of the purchaser. The meter must have been subjected to normal use, and the warranty does not cover improper handling, tampering, use or service, accidental damage or theft of the meter. Under this warranty, defective meters will be repaired or replaced.
